Where Dancing Stars Are Created...
Our Principal - Ms Jane Chance
Having successfully completed the course Jane became a Licentiate of the RAD - the highest grade of teaching qualification granted by the governing body. On returning to Worcester Jane opened Crescents Ballet School with six pupils and held lessons in a church hall. The name Crescents came from the title of a dance Jane choreographed as part of her finals in college.
In the last 30 years Jane has taught in a variety of locations across Worcestershire before finding a permanent home in Sheriff Street, Worcester, where she continues to maintain her high standards of teaching. To Jane every child is special and Crescents is a friendly environment where "dancing stars are created".
At the age of three Jane took her first steps in ballet at the Star Stage School in Worcester. She then transferred to the Shakespeare Stage School where she was taught by Miss Sharon Shakespeare. At four years old she competed in her first dance festival at Walsall winning two medals. Over the next few years whilst studying for her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams she competed regularly at festivals and became West Midlands Junior Ballet Champion at the age of 11.
In her teenage years she was a founder member of the Three Counties Youth Ballet which performed at theatres throughout the West Midlands. On leaving the Sixth Form College after her A levels Jane was offered a place on the three year teacher training course at the Royal Academy of Dancing in London.
During her training Jane studied all aspects of classical ballet training for students of all ages.
